Abstrack This study aims to determine the level of motivation of farmers to use organic fertilizers in the cultivation of red chilies on sandy land. The motivational variables used are physiological motivation, social motivation and self-actualization motivation. This study was conducted at the Sido Dadi Farmers Group, Banaran Kapanewon Galur Farmer Group, Kulon Progo Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. The method used is descriptive statistics with variable testing using a Likert scale. The results of the study show that the physiological motivation variable has a score of 75.11% in the medium category, the social variable has a score of 68.56% in the medium category and the self-actualization motivation variable has a score of 67.67% in the medium category and the average score of the three motivations that is 70.52% with medium category. so it can be concluded that the motivation of farmers to use organic fertilizers in the cultivation of red chili on sandy land is in the medium category. Based on the results of the study, an empowerment design was carried out through outreach activities on the application of organic fertilizer in the cultivation of red chilies on sandy land according to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
