ABSTRACT The research aimed to determine the response of farmers including Cognitive (Knowledge), Affective (Interset) and Conative (Willing) to the sustainable food garden program for the women farmer group Melati in the Logandeng Village, Playen District, Gunungkidul Regency which was held in February to July 2021. The method used is a descriptive method supported by qualitative data with 30 samples determined by saturated sample. The data was obtained by interview then analysed descriptively. The result of data analysis showed that the response of farmers in the high category with a percentage of 81,60 %, which means that the response of farmers to the sustainable food garden program received a positive response. Meanwhile, based on data analysis in each response component, the cognitive aspect (Knowledge) is in the less knowledge or moderate category with a percentage of 77,38 %, the affective aspect (Interest) is in the interested or high category with a percentage of 87,11 %, and the conative aspect (willingness) is include in the willing or high category with a percentage of 83,60 %. The lowest response is in the cognitive aspect (knowledge), which is about the steps in seeding vegetables. The design of empowerment in this study is to increase the response of farmers in the cognitive aspect (knowledge) regarding the steps in seeding vegetables.
