Abstract This study aims to determine the risk management of chili farming production at Gapoktan Success Abadi. Held from February 20, 2019 to September 19, 2020 in Sucen Village, Salam District, Magelang Regency, Central Java Province. The study used the census method with 40 samples of farmer respondents who were determined by means of purposive. Data obtained through interviews and questionnaires, then analyzed descriptively through risk score value analysis. The results of the study show that the sources of risk that have an impact on production such as decreased productivity and crop failure are uncertainty in the quality of seeds and / or seedlings, uncertainty in pesticide application, uncertainty in weather, pest attack, uncertainty in fertilizer application. Furthermore, based on the risk mitigation matrix, the option chosen is activation of the village nursery. Through the Focus Group Discussion, the conclusion is the decision to be risk avers by glorifying cultivars that are proven to be superior.
