ABSTRACT This study aimed to determine the internal and external factors that influence the development of the KWT Ngasem Mandiri ginger crystal business in Banjarharjo Village, Kalibawang Subdistrict, Kulon Progo Regency and determine the priority strategy for the business. The data collection methods used were interviews, questionnaires, and observations of 27 respondents who were selected by total sampling and 3 informants were selected randomly. From the results of the analysis, it was known that the highest score of strength factor for this business was the product was available in a selection of packaging sizes with a score of 0,071 and the highest score is of weakness factor namely the kess appealing and unpractical packaging with score of 0,057. The combination of strengths and weaknesses made total internal factor score of 2,806. The opportunity factor with the highest score for this business was availability of production materials near around the production site with score of 0,117 and the threat factor with the highest score was the presence of competition from other products made from other medicinal plants with score of 0,097. The combination of opportunities and threats made external factors with total score of 0,72. This scores were used to determined the general position of the business using IE Matrix and the results showed that the KWT Ngasem Mandiri crystal ginger business was in Quadrant V, indicating growth and stability with a general strategy of expanding market access and developing new products. The next stage was SWOT Matrix analysis and made 7 alternative strategies which were reduced to 1 priority strategy using QSPM. This stage resulted in the best strategy with the highest TAS score of 6,265, namely optimization of promotions using print and digital media to expand the market.
