ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the cultivation technology, potential, and market opportunities of golden melon, as well as to design an empowerment model in the development of golden melon business in the Tamantirto Village. The study was carried out from December 2020 to May 2021 in the Tamantirto Village, Kapanewon Kasihan, Bantul Regency. Determination of the area and Tamantirta Gardens was done purposively. Determination of informants was done by purposively. The research method used is descriptive through a benchmarking process which is presented in the form of data tabulation. Methods of data collection using interview guides, participatory observation, documentation, and Forum Group Discussion. with descriptive research type. The results of the study indicate that the technology for golden melon cultivation in Tamantirta Gardens has weaknesses in technology was still in the process of nurseries that did not use shade, fertilization has not been in accordance with the needs of the plant and the pruning of plants and fertilization have not been carried out on the branches according to the recommendations. Opportunities that can be utilized in business development, namely increasing the intensity and quality of product promotions and expanding consumer reach outside the region. The development of the golden melon business is also prepared through the Business Model Canvas and the empowerment design is carried out by introducing environmentally friendly agriculture to the community through the Tamanrejo cadets in increasing the production of golden melon.
