ABSTRACT The right communication strategy will make poktan members able to understand and receive well the various messages conveyed. This study is aimed to determine internal and external factors and to formulate priority communication strategies for members of the working group of prosperous workers in increasing the productivity of benggolo pineapple in Kembanglimus Village, Borobudur District, Magelang Regency. Methods of data collection that used were interviews and questionnaires. This study used farmer respondents obtained by saturated sampling technique as many as 30 farmers and 4 informants selected purposively. Data were analysed using SWOT. The main factors of the internal and external environment were identified by the IFE-EFE matrix which resulted in a score of 2.641 and 2.470. This score was used as the basis for formulating alternative strategies using IE and SWOT matrix analysis tools. The IE matrix shows that in cell V the position of growing and building with a strategy that can be done is a growth strategy. The SWOT matrix produced 9 alternative strategy formulations with the main priority of the selected strategy using the QSPM analysis tool. Based on the results of the QSPM, the main priority of the strategy carried out was the communication strategy of members of the working group of prosperous workers in cultivating pineapple according to SOP carried out by dialogical communication.
