ABSTRACT This study aimed to determine the technology of red chili cultivation in coastal sandy land, the implementation and development of the red chili auction market and to formulate a model for empowering red chili farmers. This study was carried out from November 2020 to July 2021 at the Srigading Village, Sanden District, Bantul Regency. This study uses a descriptive method. The data used is primary data and secondary data, this test is a descriptive test of the determined location of the test site and informant with the method of purposive sampling. The data collection on this test covers a profound interview, documentation and FGD, then analyzed data with tabulation data, comparison, Benchmarking, and data presentation. The results of the study are in the form of red pepper cultivation technology and the implementation of the chili auction market which is compared to other auction markets. The results of the data analysis are technology and innovation of cultivation of beach sandland red pepper farmers in Srigading Village red pepper auction market which is optimal, which is land preparation and seed use while not optimal is mulch use. The process of conducting auctions Srigading Village red pepper auction market is good auction, product distribution, weighing, sortation, product packaging, product criteria, and product marketing. The model of empowering enhancement is changing the attitude and knowledge of the market-knowledge auction against the red chili auction standard. Based on the results of a measured pre test and post test that occurred an increase of knowledge at 18.33% and an attitude increased by 13.34%.
