Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the socio-economic characteristics of farmers' decisions in establishing partnerships with rice seed producers in Majenang District, Cilacap Regency. The study was conducted in Mulyadadi Village, Majenang District, Cilacap Regency. Determination of the location of the village is carried out purposively, namely the village that produces rice commodities with the largest area in Majenang District. The sampling technique was carried out by Proportional Random Sampling with a total of 30 people. Descriptive quantitative data analysis method. The variables studied included farmer age (X1), farmer education (X2), farming experience (X3), number of family dependents (X4), and farmer's land area (X5). The results of the study show that based on the F test there is a significant effect of the five variables on the farmer's decision in establishing a partnership with the F-count = 7.075 < F-table (α = 0.05) = 2.60. Partially, the age variable (X1) has no significant effect on farmers' decisions, where it is known that t-count = -0.604 < t-table = 2.064 with a significance level of 0.388> 0.05. Partially, the education level variable (X2) has a significant effect on farmers' decisions, where it is known that t-count = 2.064 > t-table = 2.064 with a significance level of 0.05 <0.05. Partially, the variable length of farming (X3) has no significant effect on farmers' attitudes, where it is known that t-count = -0.770 < t-table = = 2.064 with a significance level of 0.449 > 0.05. Partially, The variable number of family dependents (X4) has a significant effect on farmers' attitudes, where it is known that t-count = -3.267> t-table = = 2.06 with a significance level of 0.003 <0.05. Partially, the income level variable (X5) has no significant effect on farmers' attitudes, where it is known that t-count = 0.705 > t-table = 2.064 with a significance level of 0.704 > 0.05. The R-square value obtained is 0.596 This shows that the variables of age, education level, length of farming, number of dependents and land area are able to explain the attitude variable of farmers by 59%, while the remaining 40.4% can be explained by other variables not examined.
