ABSTRACT Garut chips are processed from arrowroot tubers. These arrowroot tubers are processed by the Women Farmers Group Ngudi Makmur into arrowroot chips. However, the ability and skills of the members in processing arrowroot chips are still not optimal so the bussines need to be developed. This study aimsed to determine the factors that influence the development of the arrowroot chips processing business of Ngudi Makmur women farmer group and how to increase the ability of women farmer group through internal and external factors. This research was conducted in Ngincep Village, Triwidadi hamlet, Pajangan sub-district, Bantul Regency from Januari to June 2021. The tools and materials used questionnaires, stationery, cameras, primary data (information from interviews), secondary data (BPS data and Programs. agricultural extension). Data were collected by interviewing and filling out structured questionnaires to members of Ngudi Makmur women farmer group. The sampling technique was a saturated sample and analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of the study indicate that there were internal and external factors from the development of the arrowroot chips processing business. There were 3 internal factors in the development of arrowroot chips processing business through increasing the ability of members of Ngudi Makmur women farmer group, namely the ability and skills of members with a percentage of 66.7% belonging to the medium category, women farmer group function with a percentage of 81.7% belonging to the high category, and marketing of chips products. arrowroot with a percentage of 68.4% belonging to the medium category. There were 3 external faktor in the development of arrowroot chips processing business through increasing the ability of Ngudi Makmur women farmer group members there are 3 variables, namely the training variable from extension workers with a percentage of 81% belonging to the medium category, product licensing with a percentage of 64.3% belonging to the medium category, and empowerment policies with a percentage of 78% belongs to the medium category.
