Abstract This study aims to determine the internal and external factors that affect the production of organic fertilizer (compost) to determine business priority strategies in Gapoktan Saka Makmur in Bangunjiwo Village, Kapanewon Kasihan, Bantul Regency. The method used is SWOT with data collection through FGD (Focus Group Discussion), interviews and questionnaires to 27 farmer respondents and 6 informant respondents. From the data analysis, the internal factor weight score was 2.8179 including the element of strength in the availability of manure and the element of weakness, no nutrient analysis has been carried out, and weight score of the external factor2.5353 includes the element of opportunity for all products to be sold and the threat element has not improved quality (according to the technical requirements of organic fertilizer registration). Furthermore, the value of the weight score is used to determine the position of the business using the IE matrix and the result is that the organic fertilizer production business is in cell V, namely the Grow and Stability position with a strategy of increasing product quality, marketing development, increasing the provision of production facilities and technology, Based on the SWOT Matrix obtained 8 alternative strategies and set one priority strategy using QSPM, namely improving product quality to attract consumers who want fertilizer with dry quality and fine texture.
