ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the level of interest of young farmers in cultivating ginger (Zingiber officinale in Tirtonirmolo Village, Kasihan Sub district, Bantul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. The study was carried out from January to July 2021. The data collection method used is interviews and closed questionnaires to 20 respondents. From the results of the study it was found that the level of interest of young farmers in the cultivation subsystem obtained results of 91.09% in the high category and the support service subsystem of 87.78% in the high category, but the achievement level of interest in the indicator wanted to obtain results of 75.83% (cultivation subsystem) and 73.33 % (Support service subsystem) in the medium category. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the interest of young farmers until they reach the indicator of willingness. The results of the study compiled a design for empowerment young farmers and counseling was carried out to 15 people on July 6, 2021 with the evaluation results showing an increase in knowledge aspects by 41% and the attitude aspect by 29%..
