Abstract This study aims to determine the effect of factors: income level, role of farmer groups, farm size, and characteristics of innovation in the adoption of certified potato seeds. This study was conducted from November 2020 to July 2021 in Pattapang Village, Tinggimoncong District, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi Province. The study is a quantitative study in the form of a causal relationship. The population was determined by purposive method and the sample was determined by proportionate random sampling. Data were obtained through questionnaires, interviews, and observations where data analysis used descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results of data analysis showed that the factors that significantly influenced the adoption of certified potato seeds were the role of farmer groups and the characteristics of innovation. The results of the study were used as the basis for developing empowerment with agricultural extension on the role of farmer groups in the use of certified potato seeds with results showing an increase in knowledge of 40.45% and attitudes of 25.4%.
