Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study is to understand whether there is a significant relation between knowledge, behavior, skills and corn farmer’s preference in selective herbicide. This study was held on November 2020 – July 2021 at Petaling Banjar Village, Mendo Barat District, Bangka, Kepulauan Bangka Belitung. The method that is used in this study is descriptive method with quantitative approach. Selection of the district, village, and farmer’s group are done using purposive sampling technique, meanwhile the selection of the sample are using saturated sampling. Descriptive analysis shows that the knowledge aspect score the lowest and is in medium category (62%). This study also shows that there is a strong relation between knowledge and corn farmer’s preference in selective herbicide, there is a strong relation between behavior to corn farmer’s preference in selective herbicide, and there is a strong relation between skills and corn farmer’s preference in selective herbicide. Community empowerment design are made to increase farmer’s preference in the use of selective herbicide on corns. This design included selective herbicide’s functions, benefits, and also its advantages when used on corn. Keywords: Selective Herbicide, Behavior, Preference, Farmer
