Abstract This study aims to determine the application of innovation technology for chili cultivation in Liang Anggang District, grow the Chili Farmers Association by involving the main actors and business actors, design a model for community empowerment of farmers through the Chili Farmers Association in Liang Anggang District. This study was conducted from November 2020 to July 2021 located in Liang Anggang District, Banjarbaru City, South Kalimantan. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. Determination of locations and informants is done by usingtechnique purposive sampling. There are 3 kinds of informants taken, namely Key Informants, Main Informants, and Supporting Informants. Data collection methods in this study include in-depth interviews, documentation and FGD (Focus Group Discussion) which are then analyzed using a qualitative analysis of theapproach Cresswell. The results of the study obtained are (1) The application of technology/innovation of chili cultivation in Liang Anggang District is that most farmers apply non-organic farming systems and the application of technology is optimal and not optimal. stages that are not optimal, such as cultivation planning, seeding, watering, additional fertilization, and pest and disease control. From the technology that is not optimal, several problems occur including uncoordinated planting patterns, maintenance of the seeding process is still not appropriate, watering in the rainy season has not been carried out, additional fertilization that still uses chemical fertilizers, and the handling of anthracnose disease that cannot be resolved. (2) The formation of an association with the name Liang Anggang Chili Farmers Association (APECLA) is marked by the compilation of AD-ART, Association Management, and a work program (Follow-Up Plan). (3) The empowerment model is carried out in the form of Increasing the Role of Associations through Integrated Disease Control of anthracnose in chili with the aim of increasing the knowledge, attitudes and skills of farmers in integrated anthracnose disease control. Based on the results of the counseling that has been carried out, it is found that there is an increase in knowledge of 42% and attitudes of 26.9%. on the aspect of skills measured by direct observation during practice and supported by post-test, with post-test results of 96.1% or categorized as high.
