ABSTARCT This study aims to determine the level of motivation of farmers in Cultivating Shallots (Allium ascalonicum L) from TSS (True Shallot Seed) in the Ngudi Makmur Farmer Group, Srigading Village, Kapanewon Sanden, Bantul Regency which was carried out from November 2020 to July 2021. Was study used descriptive research methods. The selection of districts, Kapanewon and Kalurahan was carried out purposively, while the sample selection was carried out by saturated samples. The results showed that the achievement of the physiological motivation score was 206 (74.4%) meaning that the Physiological Motivation of Farmers was in the Moderate Motivational Achievement Level with the Motivated Category but not according to the recommendations in terms of the desire to earn a better income, the sociological motivation score achievement was 138 ( 62%) means that the Sociological Motivation of Farmers is in the Medium Motivational Achievement Level with the Motivated Category but not according to the recommendations in terms of the desire to got help from other parties and the achievement of the Self-Actualization Motivation score is 113 (60%) meaning that the Farmer's Self-Actualization Motivation was in the Achievement Level Moderate Motivation with the Motivated Category but not according to the recommendations in terms of the desire to develop agricultural activities. So the motivation of farmers needs to be increased by extension or training on onion cultivation from TSS. Keywords: Motivation, Shallot, TSS (True Shallot Seed)
